Breakfast exellant. Didnt sleep wbleell, beds uncomfortable. Doors banged a lot and was very loud when they did.
Soundproofing of rooms
Nice people, clean hotel, that was the good news, rest was poor.
Far too small room, so so breakfast
Check in was quick and friendly. The gentleman who checked us in was very helpful in giving us a map of the local area and highlighting where places of interest/restaurants were and he carried my bag to our room. The room itself was nice but on the small side (room 5 in the annex). The tv was good and freeview was available. The gentleman serving breakfast was attentive and re-filled coffee when empty.
The bed was two singles pushed together, not a double. The bathroom was so small we had to side-step into the shower cubicle-there was no bath. The shower was no more than a dribble and was very noisey! You could clearly hear people in the next room especially when they used their bathroom as the extractor fan was so loud. We didn't ask to move as the guest house was fully booked. The breakfast was awful. Orange juice (no re-fill) or cereal and no fruit option if English breakfast ordered. The fried bread had never even seen oil/frying pan, scrambled egg was more milk than egg, frozen mini sausage and the bacon was burnt. More a 3 star than a 4 star and overpriced at that!
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great although a little too much for me to eat every morning!
it was a very clean comfortable hotel with a very helpful polite and friendly owner
the acorn guest house is in a very good location, around a 15 minute along the river to the town with various shops, bars and restaurants.the staff were very friendly and helpfull, advising the easiest ways to get to places, providing local maps etc. we stayed in the main building, the room was spacious with tea and coffee making facilities. our breakfast in the morning was good with a good selection on the menu, we would stay in this guest house again.
adequate and comfortable
Not sure why it is 4 star. Have stayed in better 2 star. Also a bit expensive for single occupation.
This bed and breakfast was clean and comfortable and the staff were pleasant and efficient. The walk from the centre of Cambridge was fairly long, especially after a tiring day sightseeing, but was certainly do-able.
Quiet and clean and a very good breakfast. Friendly waitress.
The shower door, the handle was part broken. The bed not very comfortable, a loose tap, and thats it.
courteous, prompt attention at reception and very good breakfast, comfortable room, location near river, parking.
Breakfasts were excellent. Staff were helpful (e.g.- in ordering taxis for us). Parking was good.
Location was fair; it was on a busy street and some distance from city centre.
we enjoyed our room and lovely breakfast, staff was helpfull and very friendly.
Friendly, they let us have a guest for breakfast at no extra cost
In need of decoration
Staff were kind and helpful especially regarding storing luggage, best places to eat, etc.
Convenience of the location, cleanliness and quietness of room.
Furnishings slightly shabby and old fashioned.
